Hiked the loch first today. Alternating sun and clouds and a pleasant track. Start point for Ord Ban was behind the old building at the end of the car park though the person at the entrance station pointed us to an entry begins the womens toilet near the visitor center. After climbing the stile behind the toilet we could find no discernible track. Squeezing past the gate behind the old building entrance we could identify a somewhat overgrown track leading to the left then doubling back to the right and climbing up the hill. Decent climb with switchbacks but watch for ticks as you will walk through lots of tall grass. After a somewhat strenuous climb you reach the summit. The views are well worth the effort though we got hit by a 20 minute downpour near the summit. Once that passed and the sun broke through we enjoyed the view then headed down. Track is a bit mucky in one section but really not a problem. Again…well worth the effort
