Grabbed an early morning opportunity for a solo walk up Ben Ledi in the sun this time, instead of the clag-fest of my previous visit a few years ago. Took the standard cycle track up, and breakfasted out of the wind, beyond the ridge north of the summit.
Then contined down the steep track to Stank Glen.

That's it - lovely morning. Here are some pics!

Image019 Ben Lomond - Arrochar Alps to other Ben Vorlich

Image020 Cross with runner left (Good to see the cross from a bit of a distance this time. I'd forgotten it was there last time, and it suddenly appeared out of the cloud, which was a bit freaky.)

That was the indulgent enjoying of sun and clear skies at the top. Been meaning to get back upi here on a clear day, so it was a bit of a mad drive, but worth it :)

Image045 Down to Loch Lubnaig from ridge

Image047 First view of crags (I'd come down by the side of these last time - a lovely way to drop down, but I fancied a change this time.

Image048 Over Lochan nan Corp towards Ben Lawers etc Wondered about heading down to the lochan, but decided there would be folk wanting my parking space, so better not take too long.

Image049 Steep crumbly descent

Image050 More crumbly descent below

Image052 Looking back up the steep descent

Image055 Peaceful 2nd breakfast stop over Loch Lubnaig

Quite surprised that though there were more folk up at the trig by now, no one else seemed to be coming down this way. Nice to have it to myself!

Image063 Handsome Creag Coire Na Fuaire

Image065 The massive boulders (These had been my target last time. This time I was viewing them from a distance.

Love the clarity of the photos - I always think of summer as a hazy time, but obviously not that day!

Also very pleased to see that someone else other that me uses the word "lenticular".
