.....but pinnacles excite me!!!!

Today was the day I was heading up the Cobbler to ....hopefully... climb up the pinnacle

With so much encouragement from forum users' posts and PM's I was determined to get this done.

This is a well-treked route so I'll let the photos do the talking..

Yippee free parking!!

Garry having his lunch at 9am!

We headed up the usual zigzag path and were glad when it opened out into a more interesting route.

A big boulder!

The north cairn

After coffee and an egg roll (no shell thank God!) it was over to the centre peak. We both climbed through the 'eye' but Garry decided right away that he wasn't going to give a go- fair enough. It seemed okay to me and I did have a wee look down and thought I could break a few bones if I fall!! The ledge is reassuringly wide and I did exactly what all the users had recommended and used the foot and hand holds and the result was....

I did it!! I pretty much bummed my way back down- the more surface area touching the rocks the better!!

Since we had climbed by the north route we descended by the much scrambly south face-tricky but fun.

By the time we reached the zigzag path again, the sun was out and it felt smashing!

Off the Inverbeg Inn to discuss how much Garry had increased my life insurance to!!!

You didn't bottle it, you made a wise decision not to do some you're not comfortable with! It would have been worse if you got up and then couldn't get back down!!! :)

Congrats on facing and conquering your fears.

The little step back down is the dangerous part.

A fine day indeed.

Glad you made it ok,we will let Gary off see'ing as he had to take the photo's.
Some nice pics in there and the weather held up well too.
Hope you managed to avoid the usual bank holiday traffic jam on the A82 on the way back.

Regards
