Wall to wall sunshine all week when working but the forecast continues the sunshine into Saturday before turning on Sunday. Was in Knoydart last weekend so wanted something closer to home this weekend.

Had my eye on Beinn an Lochain for a while now and only 40 mins from home it was to be.

Opened the curtains at 6am this morning, no sunshine but cloud. Never mind, I’ll still go as it will clear I told myself.

In the car, drive up A82 and the rest and be thankful, parked up and into the cloud. Then it dawned on me, maybe I’ll get my first cloud inversion!

Very eerie

Crossed the barrier, over the stream then it went up, and up and up. The ground of the stream, I imagine can sometimes be pretty boggy. Thankfully today, it was spongy but nothing that would get the ankles dirty. Caught a glimpse of blue sky above me around 400m.

It just continues to get better with even step

Good path to follow all the way to the summit. Steep most of the way, lungs are working and rocky in places so care needed whilst descending but nothing too untoward.

Great views all around, only seen a couple of people so a relatively quiet hill but still has everything you want. Could have stayed here all day.
