These two tops had been on my wish list for some time, but due to the mention of the "bad step" I decided to hire a guide in the shape of Alan Halewood of Climb when youre ready. Alan had not done the Beinn Fhada ridge before and found a grade 3 scramble in the SMC guide for southern highlands so we decided to add this in. Left the car in the Buachaille Etive beag car park and almost immediately after crossing Allt Lairig Eilde, angled up a grassy ramp to gain the ridge just before pt.811. from here we descended to the col before pt 931, and worked our way along deer tracks to the rock spur that headed up to pt931, which was the scramble. most enjoyable in glorious sunshine, Alan felt we definitely didnt stick to the line as in the book but it was fum. From the top of the scramble continued over pt 931, then pt 952 along a decent path with no problems. The bad step arrived before the final climb to the summit and proved pretty simple unroped scrambling, a backward rake is reached after crossing the narrow ridge and was followed onto the summit pyramid and on to the top of Stob choire Sgreamhach. it was then a straightforward descent SE on grass slopes, to return to Lairig Eilde and the car

Did these same tops on the 10th after Dorsal Arete. Was too worried about the bad step but as I was descending it, bypassing it ended up being a doddle. Looks like the excellent weather continued!
