Meall Buidhe on a clear day

Its been a long time since we, wife and I last walked a munro, BJ in fact, (Before Jennifer, now a 21 year old engineer in the making), so we decided to go for the 'easy' one, only just over 2 hours for Stretch, 3 hours on the WH. We did it in just over 4, but maybe the bright sun, the clear blue skies delayed us a bit as we took plenty of panorama pics today.
The walk itself was fairly straighforward if you keep a sharp lookout for the faint path leading off the track. There is the start of a cairn there but its just a small pile of stones on right as you walk up. I added a few more to the pile. The steepest climb is at the start till you reach the ridge beside Coire nam Miseach where the path switches from grass and peat to solid stone as you foloow a ridge up the hill. There are two paths, one through the peat hags, the short cut and the other going round them. The short cut path climbs up and over several stone ridges as it gains more height.

These ridges aren't very big and head towards Meall a' Phuill. At the top of the coire, the ridges stop. The path then heads through the peat hags and meets the other path at a cairn before climbing up onto the ridge.

At this first top, the summit and ridge walk can be seen and views all round now.

We had our lunch here out of the cool breeze and enjoyed view down into Glas Choire and Loch Rannoch.

We went back the same way, the short cut.
Thirsty work, used all our water.
Back to the car, temperature inside, 23 degrees. Left the doors open for while to let it cool down.
An ice cream in Killin rounded it off nicely.

Great report and smashing photos! Yes its great when you can go out for the day and not be constantly looking behind you to see where the kids are!!! Freedom!!! Enjoy it now before the grandkids come along !!!
