Finished a weekend of night shifts on Mon morning, but with my disrupted sleep pattern, didn't manage to set off to Torridon until Tues lunchtime. I decided to go west based on weather forecasts, and friends being on holiday in Laide that I'd maybe get a chance to see later in the week. I got lucky with good weather on Beinn Damh itself, though cloud around some surrounding hills limited the views a bit.
Anyway, I parked at the Torridon Inn car park and just followed the WH instructions for the out-and-back route, this hill perfect for a 3pm walk start as it meant I was easily back at the car in daylight and able to go and pitch up at the Torridon campsite whilst I could still see what I was doing.

Pleasant walk from the Torridon Inn towards the hill

Heading up the hill it was a nice view back down on to Torridon village and Liathach

APDC8915.JPG
Reached the col and got views from the other side down on to Loch Damh and beyond (also good views over the Applecross peninsula)

Turned left along the ridge, the path curves up to the right side of the Toll Ban corrie

Continuing onwards and upwards towards the summit

Summit cairn reached, here looking over to Loch Coire an Ruadh Stac, nestled between Maol Chean Dearg and An Rhuadh Stac in the Coulin forest

The munros in the area were coming and going from cloud, but Beinn Alligin had its tops clear of it just now

APDC8922.JPG
An eagle casually soared over me as I headed down, though by the time I got my camera out, it was little more than a dark blob in the sky

APDC8924.JPG
Took a small detour to refill a water bottle from the Allt Coire Roill, by which time Beinn Damh had its summit in the cloud

Beinn Alligin was looking good in the evening sun though
