Time to get back to the Bridge of Orchy and tick off this group on my munro map. I'm back to take on Beinn Mhanach on a glorious day. The sun was high in the sky and the clouds were nowhere to be seen. Heaven for some but not so much for me.

Join me as I take the non-conventional route from Achallader in search of the hidden gem that is BeinnMhanach.

Did this route with husband as Beinn Mhanach was one I had soloed and we later set about collecting the 40 or so I had done by myself so that we had done a joint round. Did it the conventional route the first time and met a solo young woman who had said "Yippee, another solo woman. Now I can go back and tell my Mum there's more than just me out there." This was in 1997 before the great expansion in numbers of solo female walkers.

Nice video.

I really enjoyed Beinn Mhanach and as you say I didn't meet too many people on this one. It doesn't seem to be very popular so I can imagine the shock on your face when you seen another solo walker in 97. Glad to see this has changed over the years and more women have the confidence to go out solo.
