Head in the clouds

My first Munro in a veeeryy long time, but thoroughly enjoyed myself. Myself and a few mates decided to take a trip up Beinn Ime at the weekend. Due to some pretty dreadful weather on the Saturday, we decided to push it back to Sunday, and thank goodness we did, as Saturday turned out to be a nasty storm. As a result, the terrain was slightly muddy and at some parts, difficult to traverse, and some of the weather had carried onto Sunday, with the top half of Ben Ime engulfed in a mess of cloud and rain. An adventure to be sure! After progressing through the valley and getting to see the magnificent Cobbler, we began the walk up Ben Ime. The low-visibility conditions and many false summits only made it more exciting. As we continued towards the top, we encountered a hefty crosswind from the West, with gusts up to 50 mph! The final scramble up the steep, slippery rocks gave sight of the cairn, gave it a slap of completion and scranned a well deserved lunch. After a few photos and some time to soak in the rays  we headed back down the same path, a sore one at some points with the steep rocks for sure!

All in all, despite the weather, it was a nice painless walk up to the summit, coming in at just over 6 hours up and down. Would absolutely visit again to summit Ben Narnain. 8)
