A long road walks you in-between Vorlich and Veen, with lovely views towards Sloy dam, before you reach the dam, there's a sharp turn up built stairs in the face of Vorlich, indicating the start of the real ascent.
It didn't take long, and the route was wiped out by a landslide, no visible path, and the deposit in the rain was very soft and greasy. This lasted for about 200 feet, but the path, at that point turned away from the landslides direction.
You cross a few burns, and get into a rocky area, for us, the clouds pulled in at this point, but the glimpses we got of Veen, were truly magnificent.
It's a straight forward, and well trod path the rest of the route, although in the wet this climb has it's challenges, slippery rock, and boggy parts, it's a satisfying ascent, even on a cloudy/windy day.
