Considering this was the third one in 10 days I decided I needed short but simple walk, just to get out. Had the Thursday off so took the opportunity to bag another hill. Not really a lot to report with this one. Still quite bad weather, rain with low clouds so when I got to a decent height the clouds and mist had already closed in to cut the views. As it had been raining all morning I decided to get the waterproofs on from the off (and they stayed on till I got back). The drive up through the rest and be thankful pass was absolutely stunning if not a bit intimidating with the hills towering over you right up the pass.

Starting point already in the clouds.

Before the clouds totally closed in got a few pics of Loch Restil just after the gate and onto the grassy boggy section of the climb.

the way ahead

Was tempted a few times to take off the waterproofs as they were constricting the attempt to climb this Corbett, but just as I decided to take them off it would start to rain again, typical haha

the way up!

Passed a few people on their way down who gave me some encouragement that I was nearly at the top so pressed on.

Enjoyed stumbling across this rocky outcrop

So after about 20 mins as promised I reached the top, so a few snaps and back down.

Happily reached the trig point

So back down to find a place for lunch then a quick decent.

My rest, have lunch and be thankful the heavens haven't opened up :D

On a better day I'm sure this would be a great walk if you've a few hours to kill, but I can't comment on the views as there were none. But as all of you well know that's part and parcel of walking in Scotland and I wouldn't change it for the world.

Smashing report. Apart from the rocky parts, is there an obvious path all the way to the top?

Thanks. Yeah there's a path until you get to the top. Then parts of it fade but you can't go wrong if you keep going the track soon reappears again, Just hope you get the views if/when you do it. Apparently the cobbler is in full view. :D
