Great report :D

I'm up that way quite a bit but I've never visited Eilean Ban. Didn't actually realise you could visit it until last year (no idea how I missed that it was there)! Going by your report it looks well worth a visit though :) & the ferry is always a treat

Great report Janet. James Watt still lives in Glenelg I think, if it's the same one.

Douglas Botting (biography) wrote:The rowan tree - the source of so much myth and conflict in years gone by - finally died this summer, overwhelmed by the Norweigan Fir planted beside it.

:( Presumably that big tree is the fir.

Oh no, I missed that when I read it :( , thanks for clearing that up, Paul.

Yup, he does live in Glenelg (I'd better not post his address on the www though ).

Glad you had a good trip Janet - and wrote a lovely report. So where are the otter pics!! or did the otters stay hidden because they think you were an uncultured ned from Glasgow after seeing you throwing your takeaway at a Hooded Crow?

Polly H is right. You are wasted at Caley - to judge from your excellent report you should be on the Skye and Glenelg Enterprise Board for single handedly trying to boos the local economy by charging more!!!

Um, apologies for the soundtrack if you're not a JJ Cale fan (mountainstar says on my Facebook, 'Think I know that song...is it; The wife's left me, the dog's died and all I've got is this old guitar?   ).
