Sat. 30/5/09 Thanks firstly to the owners of the Drovers Inn for allowing walkers the use of their car park because if they didn’t we would be struggling to find safe parking places in this area. Having read up on walkhighlands description of this walk we followed the path round the campsite and headed up the first hill behind the farm. The temperature on this day was in the mid twenties and there was hardly a cloud to be seen (we put our sunblock on to late in the day and ended up sunburned), when you get about half way up the first hill you get lovely glimpses if Ben Vorlich and Ben Glas Burn waterfalls on your right hand side.

After reaching the top of this part of the climb follow the path which runs along side the burn and from there you head into moor land, there is not much to see here except for the top away in the distance and the north west ridge to your left which is an alternative route to the top but is longer and harder.

The path disappears periodically and can be quite wet and boggy in places which can be frustrating at times as you find that you have to backtrack to get round some boggy places, we spoke to a couple of walkers who had tried to climb this mountain earlier on in the year and they had to turn back because the ground was to wet and boggy.

Just before the lochan turn left and head up to the path which you can just make out from a distance, when reached this path can also be boggy. As you make your way up to the ridge, you may think the top is not that far away but you still have a bit to go, but if you have clear day like we had the views are great.

Although not my favourite mountain I have climbed the views more than made up for it, if you are planning to do it be prepared for it being very wet underfoot in places or wait until we have a dry period (in Scotland you may have to wait a while).

Nice shot of the hill with moon in sky. This hill is great in Winter as the bog is all frozen - there was a wee boat in the lochan a few years ago - is it still there?
