This little Marilyn has been on my list for a while so I took the opportunity of a calm and sunny February day to get my legs back into the practice of the hills.
There were a few reports of what route to take, most coming from the East via the Jericho Woods and the Electricity Towers but there’s a decent path and plenty parking from the West.
Plenty parking and the path starts just behind the car:

I was instantly met with a blockage and I wondered if I’d have to turn back but there’s a easy trail to the right taking you back to the original path:
- Blocked Path
- Detour Path
The path is narrow through the trees but plenty birds chirping to keep you company and leads to a Forest Gate:

- First Gate to Red Hill
A short easy climb to Red Hill and a clear view of my intended destination:
- Red Hill
Follow the flat Land Rover path to the right before heading up the steeper incline to the summit of Hill of Foudland:
- Land Rover Track
- Second gate before the steep hill up
Was a beautiful day at the top with a great view of Bennachie and Top O Noth. I didn’t stay long before heading back down for some lunch and a nice cuppy:
