After a long drive in arrived at a brand new car park, which was huge. Plenty of room for 30 or 40 cars if people park properly. No fee (yet) to park there. Once I got kitted up, walk through the cattle grid onto Monzie Farm and over to the gate to follow the track to a shed and a gate into path up Carn Liath.

Plenty of stones been laid across the boggy area and its a simple task to walk over all the burns and bogs along the way till the old dyke is reached. this has a path built on it for stretches till the climb is reached. Stone steps for a large part of the way to the top. You know you are nearly there when the steps run out and the old scree slope path is reached. It's not long till the cairn at the top of the path is reached and then over boulders to get to the very top. Weather was perfect, 100% blue sky, little wind thank goodness as it was cold, still some snow left up there.

Photos done, walked back down. The stone steps make it much easier. Ate a snack on the way back to the car. The car park is so big you can see it from the top..Back in under 4 hours. Perfect for me as I was restricted in time availabe. The first munro of the year. My legs are reminding me today.
