Ben Gulabin

Needed something rather easy and close by to do on this Friday afternoon so I choose Ben Gulabin just north of the Spittal of Glenshee. The forecast didn't look too good for the morning, so I didn't start my walk until 2. An hour and a half later I was back at the car. I traveled very light and used the camera on my phone, only took 2 sips of water the whole way. This is a simple walk, but the views south were really nice once the cloud broke away. I carried on from the summit to the east top and then down the steepish slope all the way back to the car. A good little hill for a 'quickie'. 8)

Hey stretch, is that you now making a hit on the corbetts.

That was our 2010 hogmanay walk but we extended it slightly by walking round the coire to the north due to the decent weather.

Brought back memories of a fine day for us.

Cheers. Dave.

Getting a few more of them in now Dave, especially now that I'm running out of nearby munros. I was going to head on up the road to do the Loch Callater corbett you guys did not too long ago, but looking at the sky I decided against it.

Looks a nice walk to fit in when you've got a spare hour or two - helps keep fit as well :D

There's a few quickies in that area that you can knock off within a couple of hours, by using a car you could probably get 4 in, in a day.

Easy and simple for a nice lad like you with long legs - but for a widget like me, it was hard going

nice report Stretch... not sure about you calling it a quickie though... for me, it took longer

Nice report Stretch - an hour and a half though? - I guarantee that's not "2D time"

No MW time either (add 40 divide by 3 then add 120)

2D, everyone would still do this walk faster that me

good one Stretch...

Would the nearest pub not have fit the bill perfectly????   Instead off you go galavanting up some Corbett! Lord help us - Stretch is now at the Corbetts! He'll have the Munros done by next week right enough, so he needs something to occupy his time for the rest of the summer and take his mind off that pesky thesis he's rumoured to be working on.

Excellent work that man - keep it up! :D

Graeme, I was thinking about 17th century Scottish apocalyptic thought the entire way up this hill  I did decide to cancel my plans to join you and Kev in the Mamores this week in order to give the thesis more attention, but I'll be wishing I had of joined up as the week goes on. You kids have fun!

Now, when can I get the next corbett in . . .
