Plenty others have done this walk before me with great walk reports (thank you to @gman whose post helped me out - https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=30522).

I'm sharing this really for the GPX to show the route I took with the mountain bike. I had been looking over routes for ages, so hope this helps. 18 miles exactly.

Definitely recommend the lower path from Kenknock. No gates to have to pass through (understand there are loads on upper route). Bit of a climb at the end at Batavaime to get the bike to the dam at the top of the path. I consoled myself that it would be quick on the way down!

The climb up from the lowest point between Creag Mhor and BH is a beast. My route went very direct, I'm sure there are less steep ways up!

Once I got to the summit of BH, I went fairly direct back to bike. Really no troubles at all, it was pretty quick back to the dam and the bike. I had to walk round a deer fence about 500 yards from track, so added a few mins at the end.

All in all, a big old walk. But no worries getting off BH the direct way. Delighted to get these 2 in the bag, BH was No. 200.
I hope my GPX gives you an idea. Sorry that the Garmin ascent went crazy, it definitely wasn't 9300ft!

Thanks for posting this.

We were able to use your route as a rough guide for this walk, and it proved very helpful. We ended up following the stream on the map during the last section of descent to pop out at the right point for the stile over the deer fence.

Only word of warning that I'd for people taking the lower route is to watch out for the herd of cattle that are free to wander along the road. They delayed our progress significantly on the way back!

Back in the day when more leisurely parking was tolerated the cows were known to lick the salt off your car.
