Carn Dearg and Sgor Gaibhre

Well, after my grand day out on The Fara on 4-5-11 we thought we'd keep the momentum up and we fancied a night under canvas so we went along by loch rannoch and parked at the wee loch just before Rannoch station.
Set off up the old road to Fort William
Walked for about an hour then pitched the tent by the river just after the bridge
Set off at 12.10 following the road to the fort and the views started to open up, especially down the blackwater resevoir and out to Corrour station.
Left the old road and climbed fairly easily up onto the ridge with wee lochans and good views, the clouds were staying high and the rain was staying away
Our other munro looked a long long way away
Along the ridge and reached the summit of Carn Dearg at 14.40 and stopped for a cheese piece and a look at the view
Down the wide ridge towards the Mam Ban and ten contoured round to take in the munro top of sgor connich which was steep but fab then down and up 500ft to the munro of Sgor Gaibhre at 17.00
Being gluttons for punishment and despite the shower we pushed onto the corbett, which is further away and rougher than it first looks!
and reached it at 19.00, it had a nice wee summit lochan surrounded by wee cliffs, clouds really starting to build up now and we had tired legs
Down the very tussocky ridge to the river and the trashed stalkers path, repaired with lots of old sleepers and headed out of the corrie
Reached the tent in the peeing rain at 21.30, heated water for a bombay bad boy pot noodle had my luxury camping item of a tin of gin and tonic and fell asleep ( well i think i was unconcious) until 08.10 this morning, not raining, had coffee and a bisciut and packed up , we were going to do the wee relative hill ( sron ????) but we couldn't be bothered and instead went home for big pint mug of tea and veggie breakfast,
Haven't moved off the sofa since, happy days!!!
