Drove two hours from Perth on a glorious day. Second car in car park and set off At 0830. Pretty much followed the WH path, or at least tried to. Once past the farm buildings the path pretty much disappears and on we trudged.

It was boggy but not the worst I’ve experienced (that would be Ben Lui). Once up on the rockier stuff the going was easier and the clarity of the views was amazing.

Reached Stob Coire Sgriodain at 1100 where one other chap was already there - Bob from Irvine who cracked open his wee flask to share a dram on reaching his Munro halfway point.

We missed out the top Meall Garbh but should probably have done it as the path may have been more apparent. Still the going was easy enough and we got to Chno Dearg by noon.

Don’t follow the argo tracks

Scoffed some more flapjacks then just breenged down the hillside through tufts grass, heather and bog, taking 2.5 hours to get back to car.

On way back down on a bit of path

Weather was glorious all the way with a bit of a chilly breeze. No ironmongery required.

Did this walk the following day but followed Ralph Storer's route which follows the steam up beyond the nose of the hill and then cuts up quite easily. There is a path up the stream although it is not obvious at first.
