Drove down last night , up the mad windy road in the dark. Parked up at the Church and had a restless sleep.
Up early and up Hallin fell first and back down to the church.
- Was up the for about 0630. Even the outward bound kids were all still in there tents who were all still akip
Decided to go anti clockwise at this point. Good move I think.
Steeply up onto the ridge and along to Steel Knots.
From here down round and up a decent path and along to Wether Hill.
I'm getting used to these wainwrights and " high points"
Basically visit everywhere nearby to claim the summit- bit like the Donalds
Or just visit the highest point, or just enjoy your day out 👍
From here not much descent/ reascent yo Loadpot hill. ( 2 herds of about 10 🦌 here at the beallach )
On along to Arthur's pike where I met the 1st walker of the day. Had a natter , got the flag put. Sat down for a bit here.
My dad had passed away last week , his funeral is in 2 days.
The flag with Lest we forget was for him today.
Strange too , as at that point a couple of Typhoons flew low over Ullswater .
- Another wee cairn a short distance past the one. Nicer view's here
- Hallin fell from Bonscale pike - helvellyn range in the background
A steep descent from Bonscale pike , through a field , over a Bridge over the River and the steep last ascent up the zig zag hill to the car
Thinking of you today Dad. stb
