This was a Scottish Midweek Mountaineering Club meet, parking at Calvine and cycling the steep hill over the shoulder of Colrig, followed by a great run down to Bruar Lodge. Cycled on past a bridge at NN 826774, that has fallen down and it was easier to use the adjacent ford, and continued on to NN 819803 where we had first lunch and left the bikes. The path up to the Minigaig pass is pretty good and marked occasionally with quartz rocks. After second lunch continued up to the trig point on Leathad an Taobhain. The views from here were extensive, especially south, where Ben Lawers and Ben More were visible. As the weather was closing in with the wind picking up and rain all around the in route was reversed, and despite the return climb up to the shoulder of Colrig, we were soon back at the cars. A grand day.

Takes me back a bit when I set off from near Kincraig very early with the Muddy Fox and dog on a midsummer morning in '89.
We were bound for the 912. Corbett via Glen Feshie. After the top we just kept going across the Minigaig and on to Glen Tilt, up Glen Geldie and down Glen Feshie to reach home again. A grand day out in fine conditions. My only meeting was with a couple of young folks camping who gave me a cup of sweet tea near to the ruined shelter after crossing the river Eidart.
