In the car for a snooze at the wee car park by the steps.
Up early and away before 6 and up the steps and the circuit has begun
- Heading up Grisedale pike
- On the summit ( looks like the remains of a trig base)
My route ahead
From here it was down, up and over hobcarton crag on the way to Hopegill head.
A couple of campers packing up.
Today I was gonna sit and have 10 on a few this was one.
- On Hopegill looking back
Decided I would add on Grassmoor today, so it was down and cut over the wee stream and up to grassmoor where the views of wasdale summits et al opened up
Sat for a bit, down and up the short distance to Wandope.
Took a few pics of the side of Eel Crag , but they don't do it justice
The summit shows the whole lake district almost though.
Great summit
- Over to Skiddaw and Blencartha
Views doon The Dale
Wee rocky descent, up to Sail and down the zags and up and along the ridge to the last top on the rudge - Causey Pike
- Looking over to Skiddaw
Retraced my steps for a bit then cut down and up to my 2nd last top today. The ball of one if my feet was feeling the heat now.
- A couple enjoying the views on Outerside
And so it came- the final descent/ ascent up to Barrow, a wee sit down to soak it up and then head back to the village and up to the car park.
- Most of today's route
- Looking down over Derwent water
