o|o over the past few day the weather has been bad with heavy rain, but to day it was showery with a dry afternoon forecasted so we decided to go on the walk we were suppose to do last Monday (need to get waterproofs soon) we parked our car on old luss rd next to the caravan park, and waked about 1 km to the bottom of stoneymollen rd there is a post there indicating the distance of 7 .5 km to cardross our first way-point was at the start of Darleith Muir were the cross stone is located not much to see more in a name than any cross stone it is suppose to be were people stopped for a rest as they carried there dead over the hills to be buried no idea if it true or not, the view from here over loch lomond is nice with Inchmurrion and and smaller islands on the loch and the distant hills covered in low cloud would have painted a lovely picture to suit any wall, the Darleith Muir looked like a hand of the god had swept over one side knocking all the trees down and making the land barren and wind swept and the other side with it large trees was looked dark and moody with the wind blowing the tops the route to the farm is mostly track and can be a bit muddy with sheep wandering about.
From Darleigh farm the it is tarmac all the way down the winding road also there is a fork in the road, the left one lead to cardross and the other leads down to the crematorium, after We following the one leading to the crematorium Not much if any in difference in distance you can if you want walk to the other road along the main road and go back up that way to Darleith Farm, but for to day we just walked to the road and turned back the way we came at a later date we will walk along the main road and then follow the other road back
All in all it was a good walk and the view were good better on the loch lomond side i think and the weather stayed dry for us too. So back to the car off with the boots and little drive to the local chip shop for some to eat and then home we had wonderful afternoon out .
