Hi everyone

Thought I’d post my recent trip along the East Highland Way that I did with a friend in June. This is the second time I did it, the first was in 2021 during Covid, so I was curious to see if there would be much difference. I’m posting videos on YouTube for each day of the trip, but I'll post links here as long as there's no issues.

Day 1 - Fort William to Spean Bridge | Distance 12 miles (19km)

Day 2 - Spean Bridge to Ah Dubh Lochan | Distance 11 miles (18km)

Day 3 - Ah Dubh Lochan to Feagour | Distance 21 miles (34km)

Day 4 - Feagour to Dalnashallag Bothy | Distance 10 miles (16km)

Day 5 - Dalnashallag Bothy to Insh | Distance 15 miles (24km)

Day 6 & 7 - Insh to Jake Drake's Bothy to Aviemore - 13.7 miles (22km)

Food & Water:
The stretch from Spean Bridge to Laggan is pretty much empty of resources, even now where covid is no longer an issue, it seems several of the smaller businesses were affected and you struggle to find shops or hotels/bars that are open, so I recommend you take around 2ltr of water with you at all times. If you have a LifeSraw or similar, then that's probably the best option. Of course you can ask locals to fill your bottles up but sure this would get a bit annoying for them over time.

I think after this second time doing the walk, I'm inclined to go with dried meals if I ever do it again. Just so you can get through that 30miles with no issues, otherwise you're having to carry bulkier & heavier supplies.

Accommodation:
Again, there's not much for most of the walk once you get past Spean Bridge. Spean Bridge to Laggan is wild camping and there's plenty of bits to pitch your tent is you're sensible. Once you get to Laggan you can find some B&B type places, the first time I did this walk I stayed in the town hall in Laggan, only £10 roughly, however, about 4 miles from Laggan, up into the hills you'll find Dalnashallag Bothy where you can sleep on a couple of old sofas in the bothy, or find loads of places to pitch outside.

After Dalnashallag Bothy, you are into Newtonmore & Kingussie where there's plenty of options.

Camping Gear:
- LoneRider ADV Tent
- Rob Ascent 900 Down Sleeping Bag
- Thermarest NEOAIR XLITE

Camera Gear:
- DJI Action 2
- DJI Mini Pro 3
