Noticed mist was forecast around the small local hills so got out of bed to see if it looked worth going for a walk. Mist was sitting all around but thin enough to suggest Fourman Hill would be above it.

Looking promising.

I got going along the track and it became clear that there was an extensive inversion right around the hill and beyond to Knock Hill.

An extra layer.

It was! Well worth the small amount of sleep deprivation. I find memory of a walk like this lives on for a long time.

Been up there many times but have only seen another walker on one occasion. Would be nice if the Forestry Commission opened up the old storm-closed routes but at least there is still this way open up through the field.
