Parking was a bit of a challenge so opted to pay the Ben Lawers hotel £5 for the privilege. On the way back I was thankful I had parked somewhere I could get a warm drink and slice of pizza…

Meal Garbh and Meal Greagh were decent enough walks but An Stuc was more of a challenge. I lost the path in the mist on the way up and ended up on a nice 80m scramble which was good fun.. the way down I hit the cross roads between Ben lawers and the path via Lochan Nan Cat. This was a steep boggy, slippy path which led to Lochan Nan Cat. From there it was peat bog nearly all the way back ….

What a shame for the trouble at An Stuc and the boggy return! I did the circuit of coire nan cat in 07/2018 on a very hot and sunny day. I can't remember that the descent from An Stuc although steep was boggy  and I enjoyed the bog-free walk back along the lochan very much.
