Day 2 of my Great Escape
Stayed overnight at Invernahavon Caravan Park. Got up early enough to pack my tent up before the rain came on too heavy and headed for the start of the walk along the A9.
It was dry by the time I got there which was good because I could get time to set my bike up without getting soaked.

Took around twenty minutes to get to the Bothy and the path uphill is just a little further up with a small cairn marking the spot at which you leave the track.
As I planted my bike in the heather it started raining lightly so decided to just put my waterproofs on as the cloud was low and grey all around and it looked like it may stay that way for a while. As I did this I saw two Golden Eagles again, briefly heading towards me before doing the usual and turning around and going out of sight just as quickly as they appeared. Probably the same pair I'd seen descending A Bhuidheanach Bheag the evening before.

Loch Chuaich

I made my way up into the mist following the path most of the way until I took a wee detour off to the left to get a bit of a view of the loch. Glad I did as I also found some Cloudberries. Result, had only stumbled across them a couple of times before. The sweetest berries you will find.

Cloudberry

I rejoined the path as I couldn't see much ahead as I neared the top. Nearer the summit the path comes and goes and I relied on the WH app to keep me right.

Summit Cairn

I didn't stay for long as there was quite a cold wind after setting my bearings I made a beeline back down meeting a few other walkers on the way back.
The clouds were now clearing,as usual and it was a pleasant cycle back to the van. Not too bad a morning and I had the rest of the afternoon to visit the Highland Wildlife Park.
