Nice early morning light en route.

Crags above Strath Nethy with Bynack More behind.

Spey mist.

A very careful u-turn into layby 87.

A' Mharconaich to the south.

Carn Dearg to the north.

Autumn is here.

On the way up. The first 200m of ascent was ok, given I was trying to shake off a cold.

Good track all the way up with the option of walking on the verge in places. Got a bit tired about the 700m contour but was fine after taking a short break.

Taking the left fork at the track junction.

Onto the plateau with fine weather and views to the west.

View to south east.

Zoom south.

That's the summit on the horizon. Not much up or down after the track junction.

Just a suggestion that the cloud and showers to the north might be headed my way so I don't stop until I get to the summit cairn.

It has so far been a bright and breezy morning though.

Zoom south west of the hills around Loch Ericht.

It should be difficult to wander off-route but I managed to do that, partly because the view north was drawing me off course. View south east across the lochan near the 914m point.
Creag Dhubh living up to its name.

Just follow the fence posts.

Loch Cuaich and Meall Chuaich. I didn't realise at the time that this was what I was looking at even though I was there in July.

View north east and the Giack Pass.

Schiehallion presumably.

Showers to the east.

Still bright and sunny to the south west though.

A bit grim at Carn Dearg.

And inevitably the showers hit me on the way down.

Brightened up again as I descended and I was able to enjoy the Carn Dearg / Creag Dhubh shower spectacle from a distance.

Brightening sky above but enough walking for me.

An easy stroll now.
An easy and highly enjoyable walk, albeit the energy level was a bit low. Seemed to help the cold though.
