This walk started off as the Brack but when my daughter saw the number of walkers in the car park and the low cloud she refused to get out the car. Negotiations ensued and a compromise was reach of climbing the Fruin at the back of Helensburgh.

Followed the path to the south of the reservoirs on the A818 which is sign posted and runs round the back of the Hill house into Highlandman's wood. Turn right here and follow a path around the edge of the wood until you reach the corner.

The follow the path, somewhat boggy up the hill towards Tom nah Airidh. Around 330 metres you cross a wall and follow the faint path to the top Tom nah Airidh.

That's as far as the path goes. From there on its about a kilometre slog through heather and boggy ground. The ground is easier by the fence line to the north of the top.

A small cairn marks the top of the Fruin. Good views up Glen Fruin and to the Grahams to the north of Glen Fruin

The route is then reversed to get back to your start point. Weather was generally good with the exception of a half hour thunder storm which absolutely soaked us.

The second photograph is not a photograph looking back to Helensburgh but is actually looking across to Ben Bowie. Sorry uploaded the wrong photo :?
