The weatherforecast was fairly good for walking at Loch Quoich and I intended to start with Sgùrr a'Mhaoraich followed by Gairich. But somehow I got mixed up with the places and I parked at the dam instead of the bridge.
Therefore I couldn't find the entrance for the ,,good stalker's path" and finally decided to go up the slopes at a point which looked as if it could be the start of a walk. Just the usual trouble with the start, I thought...
- clearly some traces of a ,,path"
I was not suspicous that I was on the wrong track, I only thought that it was a funny description, talking about a
good stalker's path where there was nothing but faint traces of Haggis

. However, I made my way up the slopes my eyes fixed on a point at the plateau which looked fairly accessible without too much struggle.
Once I was on the moor, I saw a small lochan, which, of course, I couldn't find in my description
- Loch Fearnan - not to find on the walk description for Sgurr a' Mhoaraich
I tried to reach a higher place to figure out the surroundings and then it didn't take me long until I got on a decent path - what a surprised
- First I was thinking about heading straigth towards the bealach but I am glad I didn't
- not a clue where I was
- natural bridge
I never was very worried about all these contradictory Information between the description and the surroundings. May be because I new that Loch Quoich was to my left, the well known Glen Shiel Ridge to my right and a good path ahead of me

I still believed I was heading for Sgùrr a'Mhaoraich. The good path with its steadily increasing gradient was leading to a nice cairn but I thought that it only marks the beginning of the ridge because I suspected the summit of Sgùrr a' Mhoaraich further on.
At the cairn I suddenly got wrapped up by mist and it got very windy and cold. I put on my pàramo jacket and trouser - but at the next ascent I put them off again and they remained in my backpack for the rest of the day.
- Cairn of Spiedan Mialach (which of course I didn't know at this time)
- summit view towards Loch Loyne
The mist never blocked the view along the ridge totally, which was quite nice
- So far I could see it looked like a nice ridge walk and it was a pleasant walk.
- View from Fiar Bealach to Loch Quoich with Loch Fearna at the left
- From time to time views opened up: looking back the ridge
- View over to Glen Shiel Ridge and Kintail
- outlook to the next summit
Finally I reached a second cairn but again I was surrounded by mist.
- summit cairn of Gleouraich
When I started the descent the visibilty soon got clearer again.
- that looks suspicious - I wondered
It was not before I was on Druim Seileach that I finally could see the full extension of Loch Quoich and the bridge

now it dawned on me that I have done the round with the two munros ...
- oh, oh
- so then: see you next time
- Knoydart
- YEAH!
I didn't mind the few kilometers back on the road and was happy about how this day has worked it's way out succesfully.
On my way back I found the original start for this circuit. It didn't look much butter than my slopes which where leading me almost the same angle upwards only from the opposite side.
- original start of this round
- original slopes
- A400M
- Gairich has to wait, too
- the bridge which is a dam - of course
