My strava route

I decided to get a flyer from work to head down to Lamington for a quick wonder up Lamington Hill before the rain came. Lots of good reviews of this one on WH and I have to say I agree. The views across to Tinto are fantastic, more so as the sun sets. I’d go as far as saying the views of Tinto better from Lamington than the likes of Culter Fell.

The walk itself is very straightforward and you can tackle from a number of trails from Lamington. I parked up near the school then walked through Holy Trinity Chapel. From here it was a steady walk up through the forest and as you pop out it’s an obvious trail straight up to the summit on well trodden farmers field.

I made a bit a bit of a loop of it by taking a parallel dirt track back which is slightly lower down that the track up. It’s then a walk back through the forest and you pop out back at the village.

Highly recommend - I might even use to try some winter snow skills.

Some picks below.
