This was a Scottish Midweek Mountaineering Club Meet. Parked at Auchallater, where they are working on the bridge on the A93, and the old car park is now the worksite, however a new larger carpark has been created on an elevated site, and is easy to access and level, and costs £3 for a day ticket. Cycled in to Lochcallater Lodge, and left the bike there, took the Landy track from the west end of the loch and followed it all the way up and around upper Coire Kander to the 975m contour, In low cloud and light rain the whole way. took a bearing to the summit of Carn an Tuirc and climbed across some stony ground to the top, no view. Took next bearing to contour round Coire Kander to Tolmount, this went quite well, there were occasional boggy areas and peat hags, but managed a reasonable traverse considering poor visibility, as I approached the boggy area before Tolmount there was a quick clearing in the cloud that let me confirm the location of the Two T's. proceeded first up Tolmount, no view, descended to boggy col then up Tom Buidhe, where I took a photo of the summit cairn, just to prove I had been out. Returned to the col and contoured round onto Jock's Road, where a temporary lifting of the cloudbase encouraged me to walk south east with the idea of getting to Lunkard bothy, the weather gods disagreed and shortly after Crow Cragies the cloud descended and so did my spirits, so turned around and headed northwest on Jocks road to descend to Loch Callater. Jocks Road effectively disappears as you approach the corrie rim and you have to look out for and follow the remaining iron fenceposts across the hags and down into the upper reaches of Allt an Loch, agaiin here the path is a bit of a bogfest but after a Kilometre or so it improves, followed back to the bike, making a crossing to the south side of Loch Callater as the river was fairly low, then back to the car.
