Could have climbed this hill earlier in the month when I visited its neighbour but I got caught in a shower that dissuaded me. Fast forward nineteen days and I arrived at layby 87 in overcast and drizzly conditions but with a forecast of brighter weather to come.
Felt like I was continuing from when I left off but the ascent to the path junction felt easier this time, albeit I was having to feed midges along the way. There followed an easy stroll to the 879m point which also appears to be named A' Bhuidheanach. I had suspected that the showers to the north would catch me up at some point and this was it. I was abruptly down to about 10m visibility having at least had a clear view of my objective up to that point. I fished out my compass and considered just marching on through the rain but I reconsidered and decided to wait it out. That decision paid off as after a half hour wait the cloud started to thin and lift and so I set off again.
Didn't look like it was going to completely clear until I was well on my way up the slopes to the trig point but then probably in the space of about ten minutes there was a final clearing of cloud and views opened up all around with just about every hill clear of cloud.

A form of deja vu.

A' Mharconaich is clear which seems to augur well.

But these showers is actually what's on the way.

Could possibly do with a wash.

Not looking that great.

Image
But still quite clear to the south and the afternoon's objective.

On the way to the 879m point where the showers catch me up.

Beinn a' Ghlo to the south east.

Getting a bit wet.

A small cairn indicates the correct track to follow down from the 879m point.

Image
Cloud lifting a wee bit at the start of the final slope up to the trig point.

Image
Starting to look a lot more promising.

Image
Zoomed hills clear to the west.

Image
Lift off! From near the trig point, looking north.

Image
Carn Dearg. It is quite uplifting to get a bit of warmish sun and breeze to dry off in.

Image
A' Bhuidheanach rocks!

Image
A grand panorama to the south.

An Dun.

Image
Sheep sensing a meal. Never had this happen before.

Image
Sheep sensing that there may be some oat cake crumbs to be had.

Image
Took a detour to the west and was rewarded with this view of Loch Garry.

Easyish stroll back to the car but also a reminder to keep my fitness up.
