Started out mid-morning with a blue sky and little or no breeze. Followed the walk highlands route notes and soon out into the open following a land rover track. First walk in a long while for me and with no breeze to speak of found it a long tough slog in the heat
My wife was very understanding and helped me keep going and it allowed her time to take in the surrounding landscape.
The zig-zag path got steeper once clear of the trees and midgies found me very appealing for a midday snack  . Once we got to the top and had a wee sit down and a refreshing tea and snacks (and loads of water for me) we could appreciate the 360DEg panoramic views from the top on such a clear day. Even got a breeze which was a relief for me. Recovered and raring to go we headed back the way we had come, following the track and wrecking the calf's and knees on the slopes down towards the car park.
