I've been really racking my brains to find something good to say about these Munros. They might be nicer in winter? They're quite easy to get to? There's three of them? If it sounds like I'm damning with faint praise, then I don't mean to sound so complimentary.

The route starts well enough, a lovely glen opening up quickly. The bog also starts pretty quickly, and I'm afraid that just when you think you've been through the last of it for the day, there's always more.

I had thick clag most of the day, and this was most problematic when I lost the path in the bowl and went a very awkward detour so i missed the ascent described to Carn Dearg, clambering over the crags instead. The navigation and going certainly got easier (apart from the afore mentioned bog) for the rest of the day, but it also became very tedious. On the odd occasion the clag lifted, I was rewarded only with endless brown. The most interesting part of the day was probably the drop between Munros two and three - there are at least a few options to consider.

These were Munros 113-115 for me, and the ones that made me determined to compleat a round, because otherwise this will have been a wasted day!
