I left the visitor centre car park about 9am in bright sunshine, just me and my dog jake. I took the tourist route which was very busy with walkers many dressed in shorts and trainers. When I reached the top the summit was covered in cloud, it was raining and was absolutely freezing, boy was I glad I had the correct clothing. Back to the car park and a well deserved beer in the pub on the way down.sI later saw a couple of rescue helicopters hovering over the hill and orange coloured flares had been set off, don't know if this was an exercise or a rescue. As far as Ben Nevis goes it really was a tourist route which zig zagged all the way up on good paths but not very challenging, next time i'll pick a different route.
