Parked at the wee layby just past the mast and headed up the ridiculous steep start of Herman law!!!

Looking back down to Birkhill and across to White Coomb and Co.

1st Summit - Herman law

It eventually eased off to " just steep"
Follow the fence upto the high point - Herman law with good views looking back and across to the White Coomb hills.
From here it was " right turn Clyde" through sone peat hags and upto the Top of Trowgrain middle.

From here next was mid rig and then onto the "fiona" of Andrewhinney hill.

A wee break here for me before heading down and up again to Bell craig- another join of fences and a gate!!

Looking over to Loch Skeen

Headed off down and up again to the classified top of Mid rig . Pick your highest point!!!.
Before the walk started I had planned of going over to Bodesbeck law, but looking at it here, I thought nah, I'll add it onto the other circuit from over the back ( like i did the 1st time I did them, ). Also I couldn't be ersed with another ascent, descent, ascent .......
I went and sat on the wee cairn and chilled for a big before heading back down , up down up....
Reached Andrewhinney hill and sat again and a lad appeared from nowhere. He was doing something similar- only from the opposite direction. Another compleater, who was just out enjoying the hills now, bit like me. We sat and chewed the fat for a bit, before I headed down a short distance and headed diagonally ( NE ) I wasn't going up Trowgrain and Herman again
So it was a bit of tussock bashing and over a wee stream before I went over a wee rise; and birkhill and the mast came into view . It was steep at times but it cut a fair distance off .
A good wee walk with decent views today .
And even had a half decent view of The grey mares tail.

What a change from last weekend when there was a fair bit of snow and in the mist most if the day.

Ascent = estimate

Ahaa, I've got flashbacks to the steepness of Andrewhinny Hill now. Hadn't climbed many Donalds at the time, so just assumed it couldn't be that bad (or maybe the 5m contours just made it 'look' worse), but I nearly had to turn back. Never seen steepness like it!

2nd time I'd gone up that way, and I was under no illusions - just get to Herman law and it gets easier from there

Each time I read about that steep ascent I'm glad that my prefered route is from the other side. I have a report on that route posted here but don't know how ot link it. I'm sure those that want to find it can do so.
