With T. Wanted to do this w/o having to go via Pot Burn.
Came across this route but mistakenly went straight up the side of the Selcoth Burn instead of going past the farmhouse and then up the gentler slopes. Lots of shooting going on at the farm also put us off going past it,

Tried instead to cross the Selcoth Burn, further upstream but too much water. Eventually got as far as the ford, still to much water but finally managed to cross a bit further upstream from the ford. Followed the path for a but then went straight up by the fence. Very steep but we made it. Next time though I would carry on round the corner and go up the zig-zags of the SUW. The zigzags were not marked on my OS25K at the time of writing,

From the top of Croft Head looking over to Capel Fell and beyond to with Ettrick Pen

Came down via the gentler slopes that we had intended going up. Lots of new tree planting with deer fences but gates through are easy enough to find and use.
