Having ended up unexpectedly staying at the YHA in glen Affrick my brother and I felt very ready to crack out the entire of the Carn Eige ridge - our initial aim had been to get to the damn on Loch Mullardoch. However we found the going slower than we had expected. The visibility intermingled with some niggly blisters slowed proceedings down somewhat. We ended up coming down from the ridge early and thought we'd finish it off the following day...

The morning started with lovely sunshine and visibility. And we saw some birds circling above us with some prey in their claws - maybe a raven or possibly a golden and white tailed eagle?

Good visibility to start the day

On the top the visibility worsened having had some fresh snow over night and the wind having picked up. From the top of Stob a' Choire Dhomhain we had planned to continue along the ridge south east over to Sron Garbh, but in the occasionally clearing view it looked like the ridge narrowed and there may have been a bit of scambling above our ability involved? We thought we'd play it safe and descend towards the loch and continue along the ridge the following day.
