Devils Point + Beinn Bhreac

My Girlfriend wanted me and my Bud to take her to Bod an Deamhain (Devils Point) so that she could stand at the summit and take photos like we had done in 2010. We walked to BSMH on Friday night from LoD and arrived rather late but nowt could be done about that really as we could'nt leave home any earlier. We wanted an early start on Saturday but due to the very late night before (1.30ish bedtime) our early start went out the door(LOL). There were quite a few folk in the bothy when we arrived and we ended up talking for a bit. We had fully loaded rucksacks with us and had planned to set camp up at Corrour Bothy on saturday but because the weather was not looking to great we pitched the tent just after Derry Lodge and just took our day packs with us.
The weather at this point was ok, some rain at times and a gusty wind so it was ok for photos and we just took our time so that my girlfriend could enjoy the scenery, take pics etc. It was good to take her to somewhere where i had been before with my Bud(it was a very good outing for us back in 2010). As we were moving over Carn a Mhaim's base and Corrour came into veiw the weather change, the rain started, it became more windy and the clouds moved in bigtime and it became colder. We took a wee break at Corrour and headed up to DP using the track this time(made out own route up&down in 2010) . The weather just got worse, the wind stronger, hailstones "Ouch" then snow then hailsones more rain it just kept changing and the cloud line became lower. We got to the summit, took some pics had a wee break then headed back down. My Bud and me had discussed the possibility of ascending up to Cairn Toul but decided not to due to the constant cloud cover on Stob Choire an t-Saighdeir and Cairn Toul and the surrounding mountains . The wind was becoming stronger with harder gusts aswell. We warmed up and dried out a bit in Corrour and then headed back to camp at Derry Lodge. We decided to stay in BSMH again so just took down the tent packed everything up and headed to BSMH for another night of yapping (LOL). Bothy nights are great as you can meet some wonderfull people. Two of the folks that were there on Friday night were still there when we got to BSMH so we all got talking again and we heard some cool stories that night and had a good laugh and we are gonna keep in touch. On Sunday after a bit of a sleep-in my Bud and me decided to go do Beinn Bhreac as we had a few hours spare before heading home. Another cold, wet, windy, cloudy day but we cana always get good weather. We headed up to the west top cairn 1st in the hope of some photos of Beinn Mheadhoin (done that and Derry Cairngorm in 2010 with my girlfriend ,her daughter & my 2 Buds and fully loaded rucksacks LOL) and the surrounding area. We then headed to the main summit cairn ,took some pics and headed down and back to BSMH for some food and hot drinks, packed out gear up and headed home. We had the pleasure of watching a bird of prey chasing after some prey on the ground. Never got any good pics really of it, a pity tho. My Girlfriend got DP summit done and some moments of anxiousness, my Bud and me another Munro under our belt although we could have gotten more but theres allways the next time and there will be plenty of them and we had a goodtime all the same...
