So to get warmed up for the week we took in a pair of tops direct from our base in Newtonmore. The weather was good, low wind, no sun, no rain, but tops in cloud. The initial part of the route up was great, on stony tracks. Later the terrain became more haggy and a bit more of a grind.

The walk after the slightly unimpressive Carn Sigulain top was again a bit haggy but a gentle decent to a stream where we crossed and started the relativly straightforward climb to A'Chailleach.

A'Chailleach slightly more impressive cairn

The walk down from A'Chailleach was good to start with but then peaty. The footbridge marked on the OS maps is now long gone and the path is still there but in some places not very discernable.

As is often the way, the view back up into the glen reveals a much more impressive side to these two
