Our routeSo after a fairly knackering few days of hiking my walking buddy (not the dog) had a sore toe and decided to miss today out, which gave me change to do Beinn Alligin. He'd already done it anyway so went off to potter around the coastline.
Great weather again, and a nice walk in. Ive done the other two of this trio, so I know theres some steep climbing/scrambling ahead. That horizontal bedding in the geology marks for a steep stable rock wall.

The walk into to our targetThe initial clibe up was indeed steep, but well looked after. One or two tricky little exposed scrambles which I had to 'push the dogs arse up' but nothing like Liathach in my recollection anyway.
Because of that scramble element I didnt risk the dog on the pinicales of Na Rathanan and we instead traversered around to the bealach before Sgurr Mor on an obvious path. Still quite airy tho!

View from the bealach before Sgurr Mor, north to BaosbheinnThe climb from the bealach up to Sgurr Mor was simple and marked the end of any scrambling. Because I was on my lonesome I got a friendly runner to snap us both at the top.

Summit of Sgurr Mor From this summit you get an amazing view of the rest of the mountain.

View of Tom Na Gruagaich from Sgurr MorThe path arounf is highly eroded. There are signs of remedial work to improve this but they have all failed. Dont suppose theres much they can do about this now at this altitude in the climate with this many visitors, which is a shame.
The summit of Tom Na Griagaich is capped by an unusual trig, but one that seems more resillant to the claimte than others we've seen on the trip. No-one here to take the pic but me. So smile pup.

Selfie on the summit. Best I could do considering. I fairly boring trudge then ensued back down via maintained paths. Tough on the knees at this point. Anticlockwise is the way to do this route though, if you have a dog. I wouldnt have wanted to scramble down the east shoulder with her.
