The day started off with beautiful skies, and amazing scenery. The car was parked up at the Glen Feshie car park, where we were met by Craig the ranger, who provided us with useful tips of the trail, how best to look after the grounds on our travels, along with a jolly good luck. The weather was exceptional, with very little clouds in the sky - the sun cream was generously applied!
After dropping our bags off at the Rigeach Aitcheachain Bothy, we ascended up Mullach. We were greeted by many descenders, reporting of good weather at the top, along with cracking views of the cairngorms. The path itself is very well laid out, with the route quite clear. It is quite an intense ascent, going quickly from 400 metres to 700 metres in a matter of fifteen minutes of hiking. There's a slight easing off of the gradient, which is met with lovely views of the other munro tops. The path to the top is then quite marshy, which I could anticipate being quite mucky during the winter months.
On the way down, you're met with a lovely lake, which is quite a nice place to go for a dip.
For about 3-4km, the route/loop down does tend to get a bit marshy, with lots of heather to play around it - best to have your tick remover at hand. You then reach the same path you began with, an enjoyable loop with rewarding scenery!
