My first report on Walking Highlands, please forgive any mistakes, at 59 years old I’m not the most Tech Savvy :?
I parked the van at Loch Eighean between Rannoch station and Loch Rannoch, with the plan of camping at the south ridge of Càrn Dearg, and approaching the two from there the next morning.
Man it was cold, my water and lucozade froze solid, but my drams remained okay 👍

The moon rolling down a hill, or the Bunnahabhainn playing tricks?

Woke up the next morning cold but ready to go.

The going was tough, mostly up to the knees in snow, sometimes up to the waist. The boots and the breeks both started to fill up (with snow 😁)

At this point, I was getting tired and with a fear of running out of daylight, no more photos till I got down to the ruins of Corrour

I wouldn’t recommend this route across the ridge, should have taken the track to the Corrour ruins, then over the top from there.

Last photo of the day, then the long walk back to the van. Stopped for a chipper in Dunkeld then home, burnt out but quite an experience.

Glad the whisky stayed OK

Great photos!

That looks to be a great experience Tim. Having gone to Dublin many times to watch the rugby, and on one occasion the Irish v Scottish mixed Hurling / Cammanachd (shinty) game, I have a great respect for Ireland. 👍
