Started the walk this morning from the Beinglas campsite with my friend around about 7.40am and found it quite a demanding walk to the summit. With the sun(yes shock horror it was out for a while anyway) quite low first thing it made the walk over the boggy ground quite awkward at times with the path having been lost and then found again. Once over the boggy land which in my opinion is a bit tougher than the rating given we headed up the hard part of the mountain. Quickly gaining height up towards the ridge the clouds were beginning to close in a little. Once up on the ridge the walk to the summit is not too taxing at all and we then took a well earned break for some food and water.
When another fellow walker came up to the summit we decided it was time to start our descent back down to the waiting car. Not long into our descent the rain showers started which added to the bogginess as well as the slippiness of the stone areas. We passed quite a few walkers on their way up to the summit and we were glad of our early start.
Decent views despite the cloud that closed in and I would agree with the difficulty rating of the climb itself. This is my 7th munro now and I would say it is probably up there with the toughest thus far and bears a resemblance to Ben Vorlich which is nearby in terms of boggy ground and steep climbs.
A good climb though and very happy that the weather held up pretty well.
