Read other users walk reports for the long distance trails - and add your own.

NB. This board is for reports on multi-day long distance routes - reports on simply long walks should be added to the standard boards.
Warning Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.

If you don’t mind walking along mostly roads, across the busy A1, along active fields. Then this might be the walk for you. There are some hills, and one glorious day that was out in the moors, but for the most part you are walking along roads and along fields. It it well waymarked and fairly easy to navigate.

There are some nice villages to stay in. Since once you get in England you can’t just pitch your tent.

I walked across the tidal flats at the end, but you are going to want to check the bus schedule to make sure you have a way back across. The causeway out to Holy Island cuts off the island so you need to be aware of that as well.

You'd think St Cuthbert would have avoided the A1. Still at least we don't have Viking raiders and leprosy to contend with.
