A few points to add to the many good reports on the site.

There is a hotel at Spittal of Glenshee - Dalmunzie Castle. A little off the trail, very adequate.

From Kirkmichael until Kirkton there are no places to on board supplies. At Kirkton it is only the hotel where that is possible. Next stop is Alyth.

The good growing weather of the summer this year has meant some places are overgrown. Particularly above Alyth where the gorse has taken over bits of the path, beware raincoats in this area.

The signage has been improved on most parts, and it is rare you will need a map to work out the route.

There has been substantial investment in gates all around the trail, which makes it much easier.

The path through the forest above bridge of Cally has been washed out in places, making it hard going at times.

Overall - great walk for an introduction to long distance paths.
