After a beautiful day two weeks ago on Lawers and three other munros, thought Id take advantage of another decent day to tackle the remaining three to the east.

Only two weeks later, but noticably colder. Was going to be glad of my full pack today.

The WH report is absolutely bang on and up to date, so I'll only add a few observations. Path up past the farm is easy to follow, until it isn't. The path up to Meall Griegh is very easy to miss (and was missed). I guess there is another path up from the gully as i saw it on the return but it looked really steep. Views over to An Stuc and Meall Grabh were impressive.

As you climb views get better an you can eventually glimpse Lochan nan Cat.

Its a steep pull up to the summit of Meall Greigh, but made it in just under 2 hours. Day was beginning to get colder and 0% chance of rain was looking not accurate.

Its a pretty easy walk over to Meall Garbh, only a little steep on the ascent beside the fence. Getting much colder, gloves and hood on - what a difference from shorts and t-shirt two weeks ago.

Great views back down to Meall a Coire Leith which looks impressive from this angle.Just on 3 hours to the summit of Meall Grabh..

Views over to An Stuc and Lawers were even better, even if An Stuc looked pretty imposing.

An Stuc did not look any less steep from the bealach.

Starting up was not too bad, still had my poles out and was thinking not a scramble until had to put poles away. Sure enough poles got put away shortly after. It is steep, and loose, and slippy. For sure gets the pulse racing. There are a few really scrambly bits, where you really need to make sure of your holds. Was very happy to make the top.just shy of 4 hours from start.

Fun was not over either. The path down to the Lochan is slippy, steep and loose as well. It was pretty dry and was still sketchy - would not like to do in the wet. Happy to make it down in one piece for sure. Lochan even has a cool black sand beach, nobody swimming though....

Its a slow slog out round the Lochan. Its very boggy and was really glad of my poles to help. Took a full two hours to make it back and was glad to hit tarmac. View back up to MEall Greigh, now bathed in sunshine was impressive to end the day.

Good result - these hills make for a nice loop
Can remember feeling quite a sense of achievement at the top of An Stuc given its steep, loose surface :)
