This was a more typical summer memory for me, rainy and windy days. We were staying with a friend in Glen Lyon and I actually took two days to do these two (15 and 17 August), snatching brief weather windows when it was hopefully just windy rather than dangerously windy. I took the only real options out and back as in the WH descriptions:

Very wet under foot. I took the right hand option of Meall Buidhe for the first day, here on the lower slopes up from the car park at the Giorra Dam

02.jpg
Some lovely views across Glen Lyon to distract from the wet and boggy approach in the middle third

03.jpg
Loch an Daimh mostly empty, presumably for work on the dam rather than lack of rain

04.jpg
The first cairn on reaching the broad summit ridge

Dramatic scenery looking across Rannoch Moor towards Glencoe

No navigation issues here!

08.jpg
Very breezy, but beautiful views back across Glas Choire

Heading back down to the dam

And then up the other side two days later in a short window when the winds eased a little

11.jpg
The cloud was lower today and it was wet underfoot but the going a lot less boggy on this side

12.jpg
The distinctive Lochan nan Cat

13.jpg
But the summit was in the clag and the winds whipping back up on the summit

14.jpg
So I made a hasty retreat back down to the dam
