great to see you back on the forum gagfax, had to cancel a similiar walk a wee while back, on the back burner for next year maybe

Great report Gagfax. Cairngorms are a great place for wild camping - even in the valleys you are quite high.

Don't do it! Take the pain of the blister (easier said than done). I got blisters on the soles on day 2 of a 4 day walk in yosemite and tried to protect them by walking funny. Ended up with bruised feet within hours and could barely walk. (except when a bear came too close and i discovered the healing power of fear). Lasted for a week and the last day of the walk was sheer hell. Not what you want on a holiday.

I'd never had blisters before so I hadn't taken any compeeds. Never again.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Be-well expedition foods - hi calories and very very tasty e.g Thai chicken curry etc - nice trip!
